Adult Ceramic Braces-20 Month Journey- Midline off, Still in elastics and waiting patiently

Hello and welcome to my blog, my braces journey has been a very humbling experience. This has taught me patience if nothing else. There are so many things going on underneath my gums and killing part about it is you cannot see it. I have watched my progress over the past 20 months and it has been amazing. I don't know the dental lingo but I know I am very impatient.

I know I can't rush this, but it is apparent that I will be wearing my braces in 2016'. I have a couple of things still to fix (just my opinion):
My midline is off a little bit
My bottom teeth are completely hidden when I smile, looks like I have an over bite
Space on right side has almost completely closed and I have a very small space on bottom left

I noticed from my old pictures that my midline was off horribly when I first got my braces. The midline is where the line is between the top and bottom teeth along with the nose line up.

Beginning 2014

November 2015

I am somewhat happy with my results, my teeth look 100% better than the first photo. This was quite  embarrassing, I am so glad I decided to get braces. I do not know how much longer I have to wear them, but honestly I know it is going to be next year for sure. When my dentist not my ortho said another year I just looked in amazement. So all I can do is be patient.

Thanks for watching my video and reading my blog. I probably won't update until 2016'.

Adult Ceramic Braces- Dealing with four new brackets on back upper and lower molars

Good day people, I am sitting here drinking my coffee WITHOUT my rubber bands on, lol. I know, I know,.....I am supposed to be wearing them 24/7, but guess what? I am getting ready to have breakfast, lol. This is day #4 with wearing these rubber bands all day and night.
First let me tell you, it's not painful, but I feel restrained in a sense, like my mouth can't open, lol. Well I can open my mouth, but in this case, not as much as I'd like. I have experienced pressure and excessive drooling occasionally at the mouth but other than that it's not painful. Do I like it, uhhh, no, but this is to speed up the ending result I guess. I guess things need to be closed and lined up. As my brother says, "your getting your bite right"......
I have decided to follow Dr.s orders and wear my rubber bands with the exception that I will be taking a break through out the day before putting them back on, like now. I am giving my poor mouth a break.
I didn't notice until today how much my right side has moved, it has moved a lot, considering how big of a gap was on that side, here is a photo:

I have finally noticed a big change yippee!! I am so glad to see this big gap is closing. Now I have to stay with the rubber bands to see if there will be more of a change in the next 4 weeks.
Since I don't have on double power chains, this is really tolerable. The person that was doing my last install was not very happy with putting them on.... Well that's just about it, I will see you at my next update!! Be blessed!!

Adult Ceramic Braces-4 new brackets installed on back molars/ top and bottom

Hello and thanks for stopping by to read my blog. I have had my 4 bracket on for 8 days. And on August 4, I had to go back to my dentist because I had so much discomfort last week. Like I stated in my other post, normally after 3 days I'm good, but in this case I was not.
So, moving right along, I went into the office and noticed they had at least 8-10 people waiting. I didn't worry because I was happy to get fitted in. Well anyway the young lady who normally does my work she removed my power chains that and reattached my wire on one side. Then my dentist came in and cut my wire on all four brackets.
The good news is after they did the few little adjustments I needed to feel better, I can tell you I fee 200% better. My mouth is still a little uncomfortable, but it is only like that when I heat something hard, like chips, lol.
So I as glad I kept my appointment and went in!! I am so much happier. Thanks for stopping by!! See you at the next post.

Adult Ceramic Braces-No update

So I am  16 months into my journey and have a little progress. I am anxious to get my braces off, but then again I know my treatment has to be slow because of my history with gum disease. When you have had an issue with gum disease in the past the treatment is slow and gradual, because they don't want to cause  further damage. There are nerves and roots that have to be moved and it takes "TIME". Rule of thumb, DO NOT GET BRACES IF YOUR NOT PATIENT!! At first I was anxious to get them off, especially in 18 months, but had no idea that I would run into my progress slowing down.
My brackets have turned side ways on my molars they are on now, and I can feel the wire poking me in my jaws. I don't know if he will remove my clear braces, but I do want them removed and have the traditional braces put on. To me my ceramic top braces slow the progress down alot, but I will talk to my dentist about it and see what he says. Oh and I  have too wear my rubber bands, I have changed the sizes from fast too medium.
Brackets turned sideways!

July 20153
My next appointment is July 28, 2015. I will have brackets put onto my last molars. I will have to have my last wisdom tooth removed because it will be just lingering in the back alone.  I also discussed it with my dentist and he said it would be best too have it removed, so not looking forward to it.
Thanks for reading my blog and see you on my next update!! Have you decided to get braces? It's never too late....

Adult Ceramic Braces-15 Month Journey

Well, no videos have been put up lately due too the fact that I have had no movement at all on my right side.  I have had two power chains put on from my last visit. I have downsized to a smaller rubber bands, which I now sleep in. I change them every other day and have noticed a lot more progress than before.
I was going to the dentist every 4 weeks but, I have no visit at all in June. My next visit is not until July. So guess what, the 18 months is out the window...yes I said it. Nope I'm not having my braces removed anytime this soon.
Moving along, so my next visit I will have brackets put on my last molars to bring them around. I did have a wire change from my last visit. I did not have a lot of pain as I normally have had. I will post a video up soon as I get some more progress.

Adult Ceramic Braces-No movement.....

Hello, and thanks for reading my blog. I have not been posting lately because really there is nothing to update on. I had no movement on the top  in February or March 2015'. This was quite depressing, but I am only looking at the fact that they will be removed this year, not February 2016'
As I am typing this my mouth is starting to come alive. For one I have two power chains on on the top row and just one set on bottom. My appointments are still once a month, not every six weeks like before.
Today I actually gulped a hamburger down, lol. I was starving, but that Whopper was the bomb.com!! My mouth will be really intolerable when eating tommorow, so I had to enjoy it, lol.
As far as movement goes, he says that the top has moved faster than the bottom, and that my teeth are being stubborn. It is funny because it makes it seem as if teeth have a mind of their own. She did tell me it would file my teeth down after removal, and that, yippee!!
The one thing I can say is this, it hurts like hell the day after, it really bothers you when you eat, you can't bite down or eat anything hard. For me it's uncomfortable for five days. This last time it seemed as if it were longer this time.
See you at next blog post, and Thanks for reading my blog!

Adult Ceramic Braces-No movement in February 2015', now what????

So February 6, 2014 made one year for my top braces and in April this month I will have had my braces on the bottom one full year. Well, when I went to my dental appointment in March, my dentist was not happy with my progress. He said I should have had more movement on the top, but now I recommend no CERAMIC CLEAR BRACES on top!!!!
They in my opinion move your teeth way slower and they do stain!! I thought my braces would come off in 6 months which would have been August of this year. Unfortunately at the rate my teeth are moving, it might be a little longer. I am not happy, lol, but I do not want any damage along the way.
The things I have experienced this far:
Orthodontic-Rubber-Bands
I wear a band on the side that is closing slowly, my dentist suggested I wear it at night, I wear it all the time, lol. I have experienced a little movement now.
I have experienced  more sensitivity to cold on my back top teeth, I guess nerves are exposed because there is no cavity.
I will have to have my one wisdom tooth removed because it is going to stuck in the back all alone. There will probably be a gap in the back and food will get trapped, and then there goes more problems.
As I mentioned above, there is a stain on my front brace, it is very noticeable, but hey that's nothing, just thankful its on the brace not my tooth.
I chew in the opposite side now, I used to chew on the side with the wisdom tooth but, I have had to change sides because I have to wear a rubber band on it now.
No pics because there is no update! Everything looks the same. I'll keep you posted!!

Adult Ceramic Braces-One Year Update!

So it is official, it has been one year for my braces journey. Well technically speaking, it has been a year for the to braces. Thank you for coming over and reading my blog. I know I have not been posting lately, but I  promise I am going to do better, lol. Anywho, lets get to talking...
Well I had two dentist visits this year, which is 2015' and silly me did not realize that my appointments are scheduled 4 weeks apart. My last visit which was January 19th there was no wire change, just the color of my power chains were changed.
The hooks were completely removed, so I no longer have hooks. I am so glad they are gone!! It was kind of hard cleaning around all that junk....ughhh. I was not told how much longer my treatment would be. I am praying for 6 more months, but whatever is not done, I don't care, I just want them off, lol. My teeth were so jacked up, I am happy with how they look now  compared to how they used to look.
I have a small stain in my upper top tooth, the stain is behind my the bracket and not on my tooth. Since it is really not a big deal to me, I will let it pass for now. If push comes to shove depending on how much longer i have to wear my braces I';; decide later if I want to remove that one bracket.
As I mentioned in my video, my regimen has not changed, except I don't use my Waterpik alot. I mainly use my dental brush.
Thanks for reading my blog, I promise to write more.....be encouraged and get your smile and oral health in order, until next time, be blessed.....
