Adult Ceramic Braces Update!! Almost done!!
So it has been a hell of a ride with these braces on. Through all the pain, and not being able to eat it has really been a lonnnnnggggg two years. So if you have been coming back to my blog to see what I have been up to, well it's really nothing.
I have not been posting because it has been the same thing over and over every 4 to 6 weeks and who wants to hear or read about it every single time? I know I wouldn't, lol. Moving along...... I am to the point where I don't care if my teeth or leveled, or even perfect. I just know they look 200% better than 2 years ago.
My face has changed drastically over the past two years and I can now smile and look people directly in the face. I am no longer ashamed of my crooked teeth. Nothing has really changed about my braces regimen either. I use my water pik off and on and still use dental brushes as my main way of flossing.
I have really never used the dental floss except for when my hygienist flosses after my cleaning.
I have had 3 appointments since my last braces update.

May 16th will be my removal date. I will have two appointments one day for removal and another day for retainer. Wow excited? Nope, I'm not, I just realized I will still have something in my mouth for the rest of my life...smdh......
Thanks for reading my blog!! If the lord says the same I'll see you in my next post!!

Adult Braces-Teeth Sensitivity
Hello, this is Shiry and thanks for coming by reading my blog. Since my last cleaning and ortho appointment I have began to experience some sensitivity. I never had this before, but now for some reason my teeth are sensitive to water only when I am using my WaterPik.
Now when I am eating cold or drinking cold beverages, no issue. Even when I had my teeth cleaned I felt some sensitivity. My ortho told me to use it once or twice a week, but now now hygienist says to use it every night.
Well amazingly after a week of use I no longer feel the sensitivity I was having. I use a very small amount and follow the directions below. Thanks for reading!!
What does the fluoride do?
Sodium fluoride makes teeth more resistant to decay and bacteria that cause cavities. This medication is used to prevent cavities.
Directions:
- This is best used once daily just before bedtime instead of your regular toothpaste or as directed by your healthcare professional.
- Apply a thin ribbon of medicine to a toothbrush and brush thoroughly for 2 minutes or as directed.
- Spit out the medication after use. Do not swallow. Children should rinse their mouth thoroughly right away. For adults, do not rinse your mouth, eat, or drink for at least 30 minutes after use to get the best results...

Adult Braces Wire change Top and Bottom 2016
Happy 2016'!!!! Thanks for stopping by to read up on my braces update. I have not been doing any videos or blogging because nothing has really changed. Well, let me rephrase that, yes there has been some changes.
My spaces did close
My bottom teeth have shifted back
I'm happy all spaces have closed, but I'm not happy about the shifting back of my bottom teeth. My teeth were aligned fine until I began wearing the elastics a couple of months ago. For now, I am going to be patient and wait to see what my results will be in a few months.
The reason why I know this is because I have videos and pictures of the results back in the summer of 2015' and my teeth were fine. I look like I have a slight overbite now...........
Regimen
My braces regimen has not really changed except I don't use my Water Pik as much, I use only the dental brushes and sometimes floss. I literally floss in 2-5 minutes. I also go to the dentist for teeth cleanings every 4 months instead of every 3 months.

Adult Ceramic Braces-20 Month Journey- Midline off, Still in elastics and waiting patiently
Hello and welcome to my blog, my braces journey has been a very humbling experience. This has taught me patience if nothing else. There are so many things going on underneath my gums and killing part about it is you cannot see it. I have watched my progress over the past 20 months and it has been amazing. I don't know the dental lingo but I know I am very impatient.
I know I can't rush this, but it is apparent that I will be wearing my braces in 2016'. I have a couple of things still to fix (just my opinion):
My midline is off a little bit
My bottom teeth are completely hidden when I smile, looks like I have an over bite
Space on right side has almost completely closed and I have a very small space on bottom left
I noticed from my old pictures that my midline was off horribly when I first got my braces. The midline is where the line is between the top and bottom teeth along with the nose line up.

Adult Ceramic Braces- Dealing with four new brackets on back upper and lower molars
Good day people, I am sitting here drinking my coffee WITHOUT my rubber bands on, lol. I know, I know,.....I am supposed to be wearing them 24/7, but guess what? I am getting ready to have breakfast, lol. This is day #4 with wearing these rubber bands all day and night.
First let me tell you, it's not painful, but I feel restrained in a sense, like my mouth can't open, lol. Well I can open my mouth, but in this case, not as much as I'd like. I have experienced pressure and excessive drooling occasionally at the mouth but other than that it's not painful. Do I like it, uhhh, no, but this is to speed up the ending result I guess. I guess things need to be closed and lined up. As my brother says, "your getting your bite right"......
I have decided to follow Dr.s orders and wear my rubber bands with the exception that I will be taking a break through out the day before putting them back on, like now. I am giving my poor mouth a break.
I didn't notice until today how much my right side has moved, it has moved a lot, considering how big of a gap was on that side, here is a photo:
I have finally noticed a big change yippee!! I am so glad to see this big gap is closing. Now I have to stay with the rubber bands to see if there will be more of a change in the next 4 weeks.
Since I don't have on double power chains, this is really tolerable. The person that was doing my last install was not very happy with putting them on.... Well that's just about it, I will see you at my next update!! Be blessed!!

Adult Ceramic Braces-4 new brackets installed on back molars/ top and bottom
Hello and thanks for stopping by to read my blog. I have had my 4 bracket on for 8 days. And on August 4, I had to go back to my dentist because I had so much discomfort last week. Like I stated in my other post, normally after 3 days I'm good, but in this case I was not.
So, moving right along, I went into the office and noticed they had at least 8-10 people waiting. I didn't worry because I was happy to get fitted in. Well anyway the young lady who normally does my work she removed my power chains that and reattached my wire on one side. Then my dentist came in and cut my wire on all four brackets.
The good news is after they did the few little adjustments I needed to feel better, I can tell you I fee 200% better. My mouth is still a little uncomfortable, but it is only like that when I heat something hard, like chips, lol.
So I as glad I kept my appointment and went in!! I am so much happier. Thanks for stopping by!! See you at the next post.

Adult Ceramic Braces-No update
So I am 16 months into my journey and have a little progress. I am anxious to get my braces off, but then again I know my treatment has to be slow because of my history with gum disease. When you have had an issue with gum disease in the past the treatment is slow and gradual, because they don't want to cause further damage. There are nerves and roots that have to be moved and it takes "TIME". Rule of thumb, DO NOT GET BRACES IF YOUR NOT PATIENT!! At first I was anxious to get them off, especially in 18 months, but had no idea that I would run into my progress slowing down.
My brackets have turned side ways on my molars they are on now, and I can feel the wire poking me in my jaws. I don't know if he will remove my clear braces, but I do want them removed and have the traditional braces put on. To me my ceramic top braces slow the progress down alot, but I will talk to my dentist about it and see what he says. Oh and I have too wear my rubber bands, I have changed the sizes from fast too medium.

My next appointment is July 28, 2015. I will have brackets put onto my last molars. I will have to have my last wisdom tooth removed because it will be just lingering in the back alone. I also discussed it with my dentist and he said it would be best too have it removed, so not looking forward to it.
Thanks for reading my blog and see you on my next update!! Have you decided to get braces? It's never too late....
